Why Hosts Book Chris

Three reasons.

He bought an entire town

He drove past an abandoned town in Colorado and called his wife: "I think I found our next project." In 2015 they bought Hillside, Colorado. Tara had the vision and ran it — within three years it was immaculate, profitable and growing, and people were driving in from all over for events, milestones and the stargazing. It is the whole thesis in miniature: find something worth saving, put systems around it, run it like a mission.

The $20 million lesson

He was thirty-one, in a West Texas conference room, holding one of the biggest oil and gas deals his company had ever seen — over twenty million dollars of projected profit in under six months. Then a higher offer arrived and his investors won the argument. They broke the terms of the first deal and took the money. The extra money never came close to covering what it cost. Relationships from it are still not mended, and he tells it on the record.

He wrote the whole system down

Three books out and one in edit, with one architecture underneath them: the Exceptional Life OS, the Business OS, and the Wealth OS still being built. Eight pillars in the life system, four phases in the business one. Owners get the framework, not a sales pitch. "The business exists to serve the life. The wealth plan exists to fund the life. The life is the point."

Three Conversations — Pick One

Where you want to take it.

01

How to build an exceptional life, business and wealth

Three operating systems, one architecture. "The business exists to serve the life. The wealth plan exists to fund the life. The life is the point."

  • The eight pillars — and why Business is only one of them
  • Four phases: Dream It, Build It, Optimize It, Live It
  • "Fence to the support post" — the impossible task, broken down
  • What a process living in one person's head cost them: a post office
Best for: systems, scale, leadership and whole-life shows
02

The Silver Tsunami

A generation of owners is heading for the exit. Judy held offers between $4.5 and $5 million. Four years later her business was worth $900,000, and he was the one who had to tell her.

  • What took $4.5 million down to $900,000: health, a few bad hires, four years
  • The statistic his industry cites: roughly eight of every eleven never sell
  • The seller he told to keep her business — and what happened when she sold anyway
  • Two to four times profit, and what moves a company to the top of it
Best for: exit, succession, M&A and enterprise-value shows
03

A town, and a capitalist missionary

He drove past an abandoned town, called his wife, and bought it. Then he refused to sell it at the top of the market, and he knows exactly why.

  • How Tara took Hillside from dismal to immaculate in three years
  • "I had allowed my emotions to overwhelm my reason and knowledge of market cycles"
  • The $20 million deal his investors broke — and what it cost for years after
  • "Don't retire, inspire" — and what wealth is actually for
Best for: Colorado, regional, faith-driven and story-led shows
